Our Services

We have a number of services available at the House for community members.

Recycling Hub

In collaboration with Macedon Ranges Shire Council, RCNH is pleased to offer you a convenient drop off point for many of the recyclable items that cannot be disposed of in the ordinary recycling bins. Think empty blister packs, bottle caps, bread tags, x rays, batteries etc. The recycling hub is located on our front veranda and is accessible at any time.

In addition to the recycling hub, we’re also official distributors of the orange bags for Macedon Ranges soft plastics recycling.

Community Pantry

Our pantry is available to anyone in need within our community and it contains a wide range of non-perishable items to help community members who are doing it tough. Our motto is: Take what you need, Leave what you can.

Donations can be left at the house during our usual office hours (9:30am-3:00pm Mon-Thurs). Please note, we are only able to accept items that are within their use by date and in sealed packaging.

Community Garden

We have a thriving community garden at the House and we invite you to enjoy it with us. If you’re seeking a peaceful place to eat your lunch or sit and have a break, come and make yourself comfortable in the garden. You may even get a visit from the local Riddells Geese.

We also have a Tuesday gardening social group for those who want to get more involved. Give us a call to learn more.

Book Swap

We have a range of books on our front entryway for you to browse, borrow or take. If you take something, it’d be great if you could leave something in return to ensure the library continues to offer a diverse selection of reading materials for our local community.

Office Services

We offer a range of office services for you at competitive rates including printing, scanning (A4 only), laminating (A4 & A3), shredding, emailing etc. To utilise these services, drop into the house during our usual business hours (Monday-Thursday 9:30am – 3:00pm).

Seed Savers

Seed Savers is a sub-group of the MRSG Environmental Horticulture Action Group. Its primary aim is to educate and encourage our community to participate together in our own food-web and environment in an ethical and future focused way. Final Tuesday of the month, 1:00-2:00pm.

Riddell Roundup

For several years the House has been producing our much loved and sought after community newspaper, the Riddell Roundup. While we used to produce this monthly, we’ve now moved to a bi-monthly production to make it more sustainable as a lot of work goes into each edition and we want to ensure that every single one is jam packed with valuable content. The Roundup features local news and stories, a community conversation channel, and advertising opportunities for local businesses. To express interest in advertising a service or submitting an article, email riddellroundup@gmail.com
